Lighting Wild Discus

Those who have never come to the Amazon do not understand where the Wild Discus live. Santarem Discus always tries to make all the testimony available and to share it for 10 years working in this wonderful place on Planet Earth , Amazon .

Today we are going to talk about the environment where the Wild Discus live. Contrary to what you might think their habitat is dark and we therefore recommend that the Wild Discus in your aquariums live in poor lighting.

All the vegetation, all the trees and trunks do not allow light to enter the water, the Wild Discus being fish that live in the daytime in school, hidden from predators, accustom mainly under branches, holes and trunks. They live like this with a dim light.

It will always be wrong for those who want to have Wild Discus in their aquariums to use strong lights for several hours. One of the problems that occur is the Wild Discus have stress attacks due to many hours of light in aquariums, open without hiding places. This intensity of light over the Wild Discus causes them to be bad, sometimes deadly stress attacks. We always advise those who keep Wild Discus to use the light when they observe them, when they want to enjoy their wonderful colors. Never allow the Wild Discus to live with light continues for more than 6 hours. This does not happen in your environment so recreating your habitat is important in terms of lighting.
