Let's talk about Ph in the Wild Discus here. Many find it impossible to keeping a healthy Wild Discus with Ph 's above 7 or alkaline Ph' s. A false question in my view and experience when exporting Wild Discus to so many places in the world with chemically different waters and have feedback from our customers.  There are places in the World where the water is alkaline with Ph 's between 7.5 and 8.0 and in fact the Wild Discus live, grow and maintain for many years. We can not expect them to have fabulous and vibrant colors as they can get with Ph's between the 6 and 6.5 we advise. On the other hand with harder, more mineralized waters the usual small holes in the head with which we collect them, typical of the lack of minerals, are non-existent.  When they leave their environment, where the waters get to have Ph of 5.0 to 6.0  and hardness of 10 microsiemans the Wild Discus arrive to our company with hundreds of small holes next to nostrils and...

 Over the last 10 years, Santarem Discus has done a unique and remarkable job in this Wild Discus World market. For the second consecutive time we have been in one of the most important Discus Championships of the World of 2019. With a record of 50 registered Wild Discus from several European countries, including a participant from the United States, was a real success for Santarem Discus. After having already won the Best on Show for the first time in the Netherlands, Vivarium made so far by our distributor in Genova, Italia Giovanni Consigli, it was the turn to repeat the feat in France .  Christian Kubitschka from Austria returned to win with a Wild Discus of the Trombetas the Best Wild and consecutively the Best on Show in this super important International Championship. Packaging is one of the services we are proud of. In average we export 500 boxes with about 4000 Wild Discus per year to our annual quota. There are about 10,000 kg of cargo leaving the Amazon for four continents. On longer journeys to China, our Wild Discus travel to three continents in South America, Europe and Asia taking more than 87 hours to reach the destination.
